Our 1st RV!

In October, 2011, it was decided we needed to move from CO to CA. Family medical issues, among other things. This was an emergency / super-quick move, so we started moving our stuff into the driveway and having yard sales.

After a weekend of yard sales, the rest of the stuff went to Goodwill. But then we discovered we still had way too much stuff. So the wife decided to do a Wednesday yard sale.

"Who's gonna come to a yard sale in the middle of the week?" I ask.

"I don't know, but it's worth a try."

So we did a yard sale on Wednesday. The first half of the day was as dead as I expected, so I was getting ready to do my "Told You So" dance. Then people started showing up and buying stuff. Go figure. (Yes, she did HER "Told You So" dance instead. Grrr...)

During this, an older couple wandered into our yard sale, and saw we were selling my wife's 99 Explorer. We explained the situation, and they mentioned they were considering selling their motorhome for about the same price.

Long story short, we sold the Explorer, and turned around and gave the money to the couple for their RV. The seller took it to a shop to go over it, knowing we were going to be taking it to California. The shop, after replacing all the belts and hoses ("They look original!"), and telling me about small leaks in the oil pan gasket and power steering, declared it roadworthy.

Pics while it was at the shop getting looked over in the next post.
